Choosing a photo for crystal engraving

At least 4 good photographs, if you have them. A sharp picture matters more than a large set of near-duplicates. The form accepts up to 8.

1. Main photograph, required. The pose you would like in your keepsake: the whole dog in frame, including tail and paws, taken at your dog's eye level. The 3D model is built mainly from this photograph.
2. Side view, strongly recommended. The whole dog standing or sitting, seen from the side. It shows us the true length of the muzzle and the shape of the tail.
3. Face close-up, strongly recommended. Straight on, at eye level, in daylight, with no flash, and the eyes in sharp focus. We use it for the eyes, expression, and face markings — the things people notice first.
4. Back or tail, optional. Helpful when the tail or the markings along the back are distinctive.

• Daylight, or bright indoor light. Avoid flash and strong shadows.
• One dog per photograph if you can. If there are several, tell us which one.
• No lead or harness if you can manage it, and a plain background helps.
• A sharp photograph matters more than lots of photographs.
• Tell us the eye colour, and any markings or features that matter to you — a torn ear, a white sock, a curl in the tail.

JPG, PNG, WebP, and iPhone HEIC or HEIF are accepted and stored as uploaded.

That is fine, and common for memorial pieces. Send whatever you have that is closest to the list above. The studio fills the gaps and checks every angle by hand before anything is made.

We turn your photographs into a detailed 3D digital model of your dog. That one model is then used to make the piece you have chosen, whether it is engraved inside crystal or 3D printed.

Anything the photographs do not show — the far side, the tail, the back — has to be interpreted, so the more of your dog we can see, the closer the likeness. We will show you a preview for approval before anything is produced.

After 6 months we remove photographs, free-text messages and notes, addresses, telephone numbers if you left one, and your name if we stored it — unless they are needed for an active order. You can ask us to delete those details sooner. The Privacy Policy sets this out in full.
